THE MUSEUM
Located in the park of the castle of Rochefort-en-Terre, a picturesque village in the Morbihan departement of Brittany, the Naia Museum is a unique place in Europe. Being a private museum, it is also a gallery where works of art are on sale.
In the fantastic and visionary universe of Naia, sculptures, paintings, digital works, kinetic works, photographs, videos, comics and illustrations are exhibited.
The main aim of the Museum is to develope curiosity, inspire dreams, provide emotions and invitie the imagination and open-mindedness.
The arts of the imagination are not, strictly speaking, an artistic movement. It is a theme common to several movements, often underground, which place the imagination at the centre of their approach.
The Naia Museum is a space for expression that highlights artists who find it difficult to find their place in more conventional structures.
Every year, in March, the site closes its doors for a month to reinvent itself: a part of the scenography is redesigned.
New works are integrated, some stay and others go. It is an opportunity to create a new dialogue, to build a different message, to create a different connection between the works, the place and the public.
“There will always be a certain proportion of people who will feel a burning curiosity about unknown outdoor spaces, and a burning desire to escape the prison of the known and the real, to reach those enchanted lands of incredible adventure that we open dreams [...].”
